1. Scope of Inspection
- Visual & Auditory: Inspections are strictly limited to what our inspectors see and hear. We do not use diagnostic tools or equipment.
- No Guarantees: An inspection does not guarantee the absence of hidden defects. We do not provide warranties regarding the vehicle’s safety, condition, or operation.
- No Recommendations: We do not authenticate a vehicle's origin, advise on its value, or suggest whether you should purchase it.
2. Liability & Warranties
- Hidden Defects: CarInspector.US, Inc (CIU) is not liable for undetected, hidden, or latent conditions.
- Post-Inspection Damage: We are not responsible for damage occurring between the time of inspection and your actual purchase.
- Third-Party Warranties: Any warranties (implied or otherwise) are strictly between you and the vehicle seller.
3. Fees and Delivery
- Non-Refundable: By submitting your order, you enter a legal contract and agree that all fees are non-refundable.
- Travel Charges: If no local inspector is available, we will contact you for verbal authorization of additional mileage charges before billing.
- Secure Access (OTP): For your security, reports are accessed via a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your provided email or phone.
- Proof of Delivery: The automated delivery of the inspection notification and access link constitutes your acceptance and acknowledgement of delivery.
4. Auction Facility Limitations
- Facility Rules: We must follow auction restrictions, which often prohibit test drives, starting engines, or jumping dead batteries.
- No Hoisting: Vehicles are not lifted; therefore, underside damage may go undetected.
- Full Fee Requirements: You will be charged the full inspection fee even if an inspection is incomplete due to missing keys or the facility denying access.
- Re-inspections: Any request for a second inspection requires a new full fee.
5. Confidentiality & Intellectual Property
- Exclusive Use: All reports, images, and content are intended solely for the person or entity who purchased the inspection.
- Proprietary Info: All content is copyrighted, privileged "Work-Product," and exempt from public disclosure under law.
- Security & Distribution: Secure access methods (including OTPs) and report contents must not be shared. Copying, sharing, or distributing this information is strictly prohibited and may result in legal sanctions.
- Prohibited Actions: Distribution, resale, or sub-licensing of this report—in whole or in part—is strictly prohibited.
- Forensic Watermarking: Reports are forensically watermarked with the purchaser's IP address and email.
- Penalties: Any unauthorized disclosure may be subject to statutory damages under U.S. Copyright Law and liquidated damages of $5,000.00 (USD) per violation.
